Council Member Forte is a licensed attorney, has served on the Raleigh City Council since 2020, and is the first African American woman and first openly LGBTQ+ woman on the council. Forte's main priorities have been to create access to more affordable housing, create more economic development opportunities for small businesses, and address tensions between citizens and local law enforcement.
Whether you're a resident of Raleigh or North Carolina or not, this is a great opportunity to participate in to get more involved in civics and connect with other young leaders.
There will be a live Q&A at the end to get Council Member Forte's opinion on a number of issues ranging from North Carolina's political division, the importance of local government, and how youth can get more involved in politics.
